Yonex Voltric Badminton Rackets Series

5/5 - (5 votes)

The Yonex Voltric Series for Badminton rackets was first launched in 2010. Soon after its launch, it was pretty popular among advanced players. This series was basically designed to replace the popular Yonex Armortec Series.

Just like the Armortec Series, the Voltric Series has head heavy badminton rackets. This means the head part of the racket is heavier than the shaft and handle combined. It is particularly useful for advanced and physically strong players who can put a lot of power into their shots.

Let me tell you a bit more about this series before we look at the rackets designed under it.

Yonex Voltric Badminton Rackets Series Overview

Tri-Voltage System

What usually happens with head heavy rackets is you get excellent power, but control and maneuverability are limited.

To tackle this, Yonex applied the Tri-Voltage System in the Voltric Series. In this technology, three tungsten inserts are positioned at the T-joint, 2 o’clock, and 10 o’clock positions, respectively.

These inserts make the frame thinner and more aerodynamic. Because of that, swing speed could be improved, and players could get better control and maneuverability.

Weight

The weight of almost all rackets in the Yonex Voltric Series is in the range of 84 grams. Which means they are of either 4U or 3U weight grade.

Sound Filter Technology

Yonex has incorporated its Sound Filter Technology in the Voltric Series. Because of this, the racket produces a sharper sound on the impact of the shuttlecock on the racket.

The aim of this sound is to unsettle the opponent and make them think the shot is more powerful than it actually is. This makes it perfect for playing a good attacking game.

Nanometric Technology

Yonex has used nanometric material in this series which helps reduce the weight of the conventional graphite material by up to 60%. It gives a firm shuttle hold so that maximum repulsion is created on impact.

Yonex Voltric GlanZ is one of the most prominent rackets in the Voltric series.

Its frame is made of Rexil fiber which enhances its shock absorption capacity. So, players don’t get the vibrations from the impact and they can focus on achieving maximum repulsive power.

Plus, the aerodynamic frame allows for an increased swing speed as air resistance is minimized.

Yonex Voltric Z-Force II is highly suitable for singles badminton players. It is well-suited for controlled rallies without breakneck speeds.

It has an isometric head shape and an enlarged sweet spot. So, even if you slightly change the angle of impact every time, you could achieve the desired results.

Plus, it has the thinnest and strongest shaft of all Yonex rackets when it was launched.

Yonex Voltric 8DG Slim racket is designed to withstand high stringing tension of up to 35 lbs.

It is labeled as DG which means Durable Grade. So, even with the high tension, it has awesome durability. This racket is more flexible as compared to others in the Voltric Series.

Combining that with the heavy head, you have got an all-rounder racket. You can expect good power and control balance from this one.

Yonex Voltric 0F (Strung) is suitable for intermediate players. I would not recommend it for advanced players as its frame material is basic graphite with tungsten inserts at three positions.

There are other rackets in this series with better technology material. This racket still gives a pretty good performance. Players who prefer a defensive style of play could definitely use this.

Yonex Voltric Lite (Strung) is the only racket in the Voltric series suitable for beginners. It has a combination of aero and box frame which gives a solid feel on impact.

The shaft is very easy to handle so there’s very little resistance while maneuvering. Isometric head shape has a bigger sweet spot and is more forgiving.

Overall, it’s really good for beginners and intermediate players.

Conclusion

Now that you have seen the rackets under the Voltric Series, you must have got a good idea about their performance. I would not recommend these for absolute beginners as they are not that easy to maneuver. The tungsten joints make things easier but not that easy.

So, if you are an intermediate or advanced player, these are really good options. You can see which of these is a good fit and purchase it only from reputable sellers.
